National Mentoring Month PDF Print E-mail

January 2012 is the 11th annual National Mentoring Month. This campaign helps raise awareness of the need for mentors and celebrates the positive effect mentoring can have on children and adolescents. Many mentoring programs work to reach at-risk youth in order to provide positive role models for them.

AMECO applauds the efforts of our national partners and other organizations who support mentoring youth. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has provided more than $500 million to support youth mentoring and development programs throughout the country through grants to national and local organizations.
