AMECO is proud to recoginze member organization, A Child Is Missing , for recently reaching a milestone 1,000 safe assisted recoveries. A Child Is Missing is a Florida based non-profit organization that assists law enforcement in locating missing children, the disabled and elderly during the crucial first hours of disappearance. When a child or disabled person goes missing, ACIM alerts citizens in the surrounding area by making automated phone calls with a physical description and other details to cell and home phones. 1,000 phones can be dialed every 60 seconds.

A Child Is Missing is also celebrating 15 years in operation. Sherry Friedlander, Executive Director, founded the organization in January of 1997 after realizing that such a service was not available for law enforcement to use for free. Since then, ACIM has expanded to a nationwide alert system that is well respected by law enforcement and has brought missing persons home safely across the country.
